Debmar-Mercury ups Karen Bonck to head current programming as Alexandra Jewett exits

Steve Harvey hosts Fremantle’s Family Feud

Lionsgate-owned TV syndication company Debmar-Mercury has elevated Karen Bonck to executive VP of partnerships and current programming.

The New York-based exec, who joined the company in 2014, will assume oversight of current programming from Alexandra Jewett, executive VP of programming, who is leaving at the end of the month after 16 years.

Bonck was previously senior VP of branded integrations and partnerships at Debmar-Mercury after working at NBCUniversal and Disney in a variety of roles spanning ad sales, marketing and partnerships.

Shows distributed by Debmar-Mercury include Fremantle’s Family Feud, hosted by Steve Harvey, and daily talkshow Sherri, hosted by Sherri Shepherd.

“Karen is a phenomenal executive who has brilliantly navigated the daytime ad market to create successful brand integrations into our talkshows,” said Debmar-Mercury co-presidents Ira Bernstein and Mort Marcus.

“She is an extremely capable executive who is ideally suited to step into the current programming role that Alexandra has so expertly managed, most recently on Sherri.”
