DeA enrols in Atlantyca’s School of Roars

Dot To Dot Productions’ 2D toon School of Roars

MIPTV: De Agostini Editore’s Italian preschool channel DeA Junior has acquired animated series School of Roars in a deal with Italian distributor Atlantyca Entertainment.

The 52×7’ 2D-animated preschool series from Dot To Dot Productions was created by Alan Robinson and executive produced by Jo Killingley for Dot To Dot Productions and by Sarah Legg for the UK’s CBeebies. Universal Kids (fka Sprout) in the US also pre-bought the series.

The show aims to help young children prepare for school life through its mini monster characters, who go to school at night and learn how to be monsters.

Germany’s ZDF Enterprises (ZDFE) holds worldwide distribution and licensing rights to School or Roars outside the UK and US. Atlantyca is the appointed distributor in Italy for ZDFE’s junior catalogue, which also includes Scream Street, H20, Dive Olly Dive and Nutri Ventures.

Following the deal with DeA Junior, which premiered the series in March, Atlantyca and ZDFE have extended their distribution arrangement to cover exclusive Italian licensing rights.

Atlantyca produces and distributes adventure animation series Geronimo Stilton, which has been sold into more than 130 countries, and manages its IP.

The latest series, The New Adventures of Geronimo Stilton, is a coproduction with French company Superprod, with backing from Rai Fiction and France Télévisions. Atlantyca is also a coproducer on Bat Pat (52×11’) with Imira Entertainment and Mondo TV, with backing from Rai Fiction and RTVE.
