Currently serving as Foxtel’s executive director, commercial, sport, McCloy will now be responsible for overseeing global rights and acquisitions at DAZN, working with local teams across the company’s international footprint to drive new growth initiatives.

Foxtel chief Patrick Delany said the international appointment was an “incredible opportunity” for the Australian executive. “It reflects the quality of executives in Australia, as well as the opportunities that come from being part of a global business. I’m particularly pleased that we will continue to benefit from Rebecca’s counsel, as well as gain a new connection to global sports rights.”

Succeeding McCloy at Foxtel will be 30-year Foxtel veteran Adam Howarth, currently director of content acquisitions and sports partnerships. Howarth will report to Delany and work closely with McCloy. Both appointments are effective from early November.

McCloy said: “It’s been a privilege to work with some of the great off-field leaders in Australian sports to expand audiences for their codes and develop sport at the grassroots levels. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to work in this global role with DAZN, and to maintain my relationship with the Foxtel Group as we unlock exciting opportunities ahead.”
