Danny DeVito to play the Devil on FXX

US cablenet FXX has ordered an animated comedy series in which Danny DeVito and his daughter Lucy DeVito will play the Devil and the spawn of Satan respectively.

Half-hour series Little Demon is written by creators Darcy Fowler, Seth Kirschner and Kieran Valla and will premiere on FXX before being made available to stream the following day on FX On Hulu.

In the show, 13 years after being impregnated by the Devil (Danny DeVito), a reluctant mother (Aubrey Plaza) and her Antichrist daughter (Lucy DeVito) attempt to live an ordinary life in Delaware, but are constantly thwarted by monstrous forces, including Satan, who yearns for custody of his daughter’s soul.

The show was ordered by Nick Grad, president of original programming at FX Entertainment.

It will be executive produced by Jersey Films 2nd Avenue’s Jake, Lucy and Danny DeVito; ShadowMachine’s Monica Mitchell, Corey Campodonico and Alex Bulkley; and Plaza, Fowler, Kirschner, Valla and Dan Harmon (Rick & Morty). Steve Levy serves as a producer on the project and the show is produced by FX Productions.
