Danish podcast platform Podimo appoints former Amazon Studios exec Georgia Brown

Former Amazon Studios executive Georgia Brown has been named as chief content officer at Danish podcast subscription platform Podimo, which is pushing into video and English-language content.

Georgia Brown

Founded in Denmark in 2019, Podimo operates across multiple European and Latin American markets, specialising in local-language spoken audio entertainment and recently surpassed one million paying subscribers.

Brown was brought in by Podimo’s outgoing chief content officer, Sachin Doshi, who will step down from his role in September and take a position on Podimo’s board while continuing to advise on the company’s expanding studios and platform strategies.

London-based Brown is a former head of European originals at Amazon Studios, where she played a pivotal role in content such as Clarkson’s Farm, 007: Road to a Million, The Rig and All or Nothing.

Since leaving Amazon after five years with the tech giant in 2022, Brown has joined the board at London-based sustainable film and TV production hub Garden Studios and become voluntary chair of the British Film Institute’s Skills Task Force, which addresses skill shortages within the UK’s screen sector.

Prior to Amazon, Brown held senior leadership roles at Fremantle, BBC Studios (then known as BBC Worldwide) and Shine International.

She will now lead Podimo’s push into the production and global rollout of original IP across podcasts, video and digital formats following the recent launch of its studios division.

Brown said: “The creator economy is experiencing rapid, transformative growth, reshaping how stories are told, shared and monetised.

“The future of content lies in convergence between the world of traditional entertainment and the dynamic, ever-evolving creator landscape. Podimo is uniquely positioned to empower creators to grow into media entrepreneurs, building sustainable businesses and scaling their impact through premium, IP-led storytelling.”
