Danger Mouse extends mission

The rebooted version of Danger Mouse

CBBC’s rebooted version of Danger Mouse

The rebooted version of classic children’s animated series Danger Mouse is returning for a second season.

FremantleMedia Kids & Family (FMK) and UK children’s broadcaster CBBC will again team up on the series, which was commissioned by CBBC controller Cheryl Taylor.

The show, part of FMK’s five-year coproduction partnership with BBC Children’s, returned to UK screens on CBBC after a 23-year absence last September and has now been sold into more than 100 territories. It had previously been sold to SVoD giant Netflix in multiple territories.

FMK owns the global TV and licensing rights to the series, which is animated by Irish indie Boulder Media with Robert Cullen directing and Peter Lewis producing.

Danger Mouse ran on ITV from 1981 to 1992 and was originally produced by Cosgrove Hall Films for Thames Television.
