D360 adds stop-motion toon

George & Pau hails from the Netherlands

Canadian sales firm Distribution360 has acquired the rights to European stop-motion animated series George & Paul.

The 26×5′ show, produced by Pedri Animation in Holland with coproducers Beast Animation in Belgium and Dutch pubcaster NTR, was created and directed by Rotterdam-based Ka-Ching Cartoons.

It follows two best friends who live in a world of wooden blocks, where anything is possible and adventure is always right around the corner.

C21 first reported on the preschool series in 2013 after Ka-Ching had pitched it at Cartoon Forum in Toulouse.

“Building a world using the simplicity of children’s toy blocks feels timeless and something that kids the world over will understand and engage with,” said Diane Rankin, senior VP of international at Distribution360.

“The two characters are best friends despite having quite opposite personalities, which also adds to the fun and appeal for children navigating their first friendships.”
