CW greenlights four

US broadcast network The CW has added four new drama series to its line-up and renewed The Carrie Diaries and Nikita.

The Hundred is a post-apocalyptic sci-fi drama from Warner Bros, Alloy Entertainment and Jason Rothenberg. Set in the future after nuclear war has destroyed humanity on earth, the show focuses on 100 juvenile delinquents sent from the space stations where people survived back to earth as part of a re-population project.

Another sci-fi drama, Oxygen, comes from Isla Producciones, Olé Productions, Powwow Media Partners and Space Floor Television and centres on humans and aliens who mix in a desegregated school.

There are also orders for period drama Reign, about a young Mary Queen of Scots, and The Tomorrow People, produced by Greg Berlanti, about young people who possess special powers as a result of evolution.

The series join the spin-off to The Vampire Diaries, which the network also confirmed recently.

The Carrie Diaries will return for a second season and Nikita for a fourth, The CW confirmed ahead of its official upfront next week.
