CTC to take part in Hollywood Game Night

MIR’s Celebrity Game Night will air on CTC from this autumn

Russian broadcaster CTC has bought the rights to Hollywood Game Night from distributor NBCUniversal International Formats for local adaptation.

The Russian version will be entitled Celebrity Game Night and will be produced by Andrei Boltenko’s production company MIR.

The 12×60′ series, which will air on CTC  this autumn, marks the 21st adaptation of the format, which has also been produced in the UK, Sweden, France, Spain, Turkey, French Canada and across Eastern Europe.

In addition, E! Entertainment has commissioned a local version of Celebrity Game Night in South Africa, which will be produced by Rapid Blue, the production company behind South Africa’s versions of Got Talent and Bake Off. Production of the 10-part series will start in July and air on E! later this year.

Swedish broadcaster SVT has also signed a deal with NBC for a second season of the show. Produced in-house by SVT Goteborg, the 10×60′ local version, entitled Alla för en (All for One), will air on SVT1 in the autumn.

Hollywood Game Night, meanwhile, will return for a fifth season on Radio Canada Tele this autumn and a third season will launch on Channel 3 in Thailand next month, while a third season is currently on air in Hungary on RTL Klub.

In the UK, a local version, also entitled Celebrity Game Night, was commissioned by Channel 5 and produced by NBC’s production company Monkey. The six-part season currently airs on Fridays.

Hollywood Game Night was co-created by actor and producer Sean Hayes, producer Todd Milliner and Mission Control Media. It is currently in its sixth season on NBC.
