Crunchyroll, Ani-one have Moonlit Fantasy

C2C Studios’ Tsukimichi – Moonlit Fantasy

WarnerMedia-owned US anime streamer Crunchyroll and Japanese animation platform Ani-one have picked up the series Tsukimichi – Moonlit Fantasy from Nippon TV.

Produced by Japanese animation outfit C2C Studios (Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina) and broadcaster Nippon TV’s new anime department, Tsukimichi – Moonlit Fantasy is based on the award-winning novel and manga written by Kei Azumi.

The series follows a high school student who gets summoned to another world but is then outcast.

Nippon TV is handling international distribution and has secured sales to Crunchyroll for worldwide rights, excluding Asia. The show has also been acquired in Asia by the Medialink-owned Ani-one platform, pay TV channel Aniplus and streamer aniplus.tv.

Kako Kuwahara, exec VP for anime at Nippon TV, said: “Launching in just October 2020, the impact that our new anime department and its first international project, Tsukimichi – Moonlit Fantasy, has made to the anime industry has far exceeded our expectations. We are so proud to be able to show the series to so many viewers around the globe so soon after it was broadcast in Japan.”
