Coty Cagliolo heads to Sony from Fremantle, Johanna Helman upped as replacement

Sony Pictures Television (SPT) has added Coty Cagliolo to its Lat Am and US Hispanic team, with Fremantle upping Johanna Helman to replace her.
Cagliolo has been named senior VP and MD of production for Latin America & US Hispanic at SPT it was announced today by John Rossiter, exec VP of distribution, networks and production, Latin America, to whom she will report. Based in Mexico, Cagliolo will oversee the company’s Spanish language production business across the region.
She joins from Fremantle who have subsequently upped Helman to MD of Fremantle Mexico & head of production Latin America, reporting to Ganesh Rajaram, CEO Asia & Latin America.
Cagliolo, who will start in her new role in January, has over 30 years’ experience working in the industry. She spent 11 years at Fremantle Latin America, most recently serving as head of production for Latin America. Prior to that she was MD of Fremantle Mexico.
During this time, Cagliolo contributed to Fremantle’s territorial expansion, driving productions in key markets such as US Hispanic, as well as strengthening the company’s presence in Brazil and Argentina. Previously, Cagliolo worked as creative director at Endemol Argentina for nine years, and later as an independent consultant for several production companies in the region.
Helman, meanwhile, joined Fremantle in 2016 as exec producer of Cocineros Mexicanos, Fremantle’s first live show for TV Azteca. In 2020, she led the first unscripted production, Too Hot to Handle, for Netflix in Mexico. In the same year she was promoted to VP of production.
Cagliolo said: “After much reflection, I’ve made the decision to step away from my role at Fremantle to pursue new challenges. It has been an honor to lead such an incredible team, and I’m deeply grateful for the memories and achievements we’ve shared. I leave knowing that the company is in great hands with Johanna, whose leadership will no doubt take Fremantle to new heights.”
