Corus orders new series for Home Network and History Channel, renews Beer Budget Reno

Kristen Coutts hosts 10 more episodes of Beer Budget Reno

Canadian broadcast group Corus Entertainment has ordered a pair of new series for its Home Network and History Channel, as well as a second season of renovation show Beer Budget Reno.

Home Network has lined up Property Pursuit (20×60′, McGillivray Entertainment Media), which follows people who are chasing their next big move up the property ladder.

It has also ordered 10 new episodes of Beer Budget Reno, which follows host Kristen Coutts as she uses cost-cutting hacks in transformative renovations.

The latter series is produced by Proper Television – which was this week folded into parent company Blue Ant Media – for Home Network and A+E Global Media.

Corus-owned History Channel also co-commissioned Countdown to Zero Hour, a series that unravels the sequence of events that transform ordinary days into natural or man-made catastrophes. The coproduction is produced by Cream Productions for History Channel and A+E Global Media.

Elsewhere, Corus said it had sold almost 1,700 hours of finished content to international buyers over the past year, including Crime Beat, Big Burger Battle, Love Club: Moms, Renovation Resort, Repossessed and Scott’s Vacation House Rules.

“As home to Canada’s leading lifestyle and factual specialty networks, Corus continues to invest in purposeful commissions that audiences want while delivering meaningful value for advertisers,” said Jennifer Abrams, Corus’s senior VP of content and marketing.
