Conspiração taps ex-Paramount exec Tereza Gonzalez for international push

Brazilian production company Conspiração has appointed former Paramount exec Tereza Gonzalez as its VP of international as it looks to drive expansion in Mexico and Latin America.

According to the company, Gonzalez will serve as the bridge between Conspiração and major global players, leading the development of original series and projects, as well as representing the firm at industry events and markets.

With more than 30 years of experience, Gonzalez has worked in series, feature films, documentaries, theatre and advertising. Most recently, she led pan-regional development at Paramount Television International Studios, working on strategies for Brazil and Latin America.

The Rio de Janeiro-based exec is the former CEO of Porta dos Fundos, where she led the joint venture with Viacom and launched high-profile projects such as Borges (Comedy Central/Netflix) and Homem? (Comedy Central/Prime Video). She was also responsible for the group’s international expansion, launching the Backdoor channel in Mexico and consolidating key partnerships abroad.

Her work extends to prominent productions such as Greg News (HBO), O Negócio (HBO), Que História É Essa, Porchat (GNT), Peçanha Contra o Animal (Prime Video), As Seguidoras (Paramount+) and Anderson Spider Silva (Paramount+).

With 10 International Emmy nominations, Conspiração is the most nominated independent production company in Latin America. In 2012 it won in the Best Comedy category for The Invisible Woman.

It is the coproducer of I’m Still Here, the Oscar winner for Best International Feature Film, Golden Globe winner for Best Drama Actress and the biggest post-pandemic box office hit in Brazil.

It is also the creator of series such as The End (Globoplay), Under Pressure (TV Globo), DOM (Prime Video), Anitta: Made in Honório (Netflix), Blue Building Detectives (Gloob) and 1 Against All (Fox), as well as non-fiction shows like Traveling with the Gils (Prime Video), Angélica: 50 & Tanto (Globoplay) and If I Were Luísa Sonza (Netflix).

Conspiração is currently working on titles including Old Bandits and Bajo Presión, the Mexican adaptation of Under Pressure.
