Kim Varvell, left, and Tommy Bulfin

Banijay-owned UK prodco Conker Pictures has won the rights to Death’s a Bitch, the forthcoming debut novel by Eloise Rodger.

Following a competitive international process, Conker Pictures will now adapt the novel into a TV series with a view to taking it to both the UK and international markets.

Former BBC commissioning editor Tommy Bulfin and Apple TV+ drama commissioner Kim Varvell set up Conker with backing from Banijay UK in 2023.

Death’s a Bitch will be published in 2027. The project is backed by Banijay Entertainment’s Scripted Fund, and scouted by Hannah Griffiths, head of adaptations for Banijay UK.

The deal was negotiated by Emily Hayward Whitlock at The Artists Partnership.
