Studio Lambert school dramedy Boarders enrols for a new term at BBC Three

Boarders follows five black inner-city teens at a posh school

UK pubcaster the BBC has commissioned a second season of comedy-drama series Boarders for its youth-skewing channel BBC Three and streamer BBC iPlayer.

The new 6×45’ season will be produced by London-based prodco Studio Lambert (Race Across the World) in association with All3Media International, which is handling global distribution.

Boarders follows five black inner-city teens who win scholarships to a prestigious boarding school. The second season sees a new acting headmistress (Niky Wardley) try to get rid of the talented students.

Reprising their roles from the first series are Josh Tedeku, Jodie Campbell, Sekou Diaby, Myles Kamwendo and Aruna Jalloh.

Lindsay Salt, director of BBC Drama, said: “With brilliant scripts from Daniel Lawrence Taylor and star-making performances from its young cast, Boarders has received a fantastic response since arriving on BBC iPlayer and BBC Three earlier this year.”
