Comedy Central adds more Crank Yankers

Crank Yankers

Comedy Central has ordered 20 new episodes of puppet comedy Crank Yankers from talkshow host Jimmy Kimmel’s Kimmelot prodco.

The new episodes are being added to the current season of the half-hour series, which features celebrity guests performing pranks over the phone, through social media or via eSports platforms. Last year, the show attracted more than 8.9 million viewers.

Crank Yankers is produced by Kimmelot in association with ITV America. Jonathan Kimmel, the talkshow host’s brother, serves as showrunner, director and executive producer. Jimmy Kimmel, Adam Carolla, Daniel Kellison and David George also exec produce.

Sarah Babineau, head of Comedy Central content and creative enterprises, said: “The successful return of Crank Yankers in 2019 showed that the series is a timeless classic. We can’t wait to see what America’s favourite dirty-talking pranksters have in store for next season.”

The new episodes will premiere from March 17.
