CoComelon live-action spin-off heads to the classroom this month on YouTube

CoComelon Classroom stars real-life teacher Juliana Urtubey

Moonbug Entertainment’s live-action spin-off to CoComelon, announced two weeks ago, will launch this month on YouTube.

The series, which had initially been titled Melon Patch Classroom, has changed its name to CoComelon Classroom and will premiere the first two episodes on September 21, followed by a third on September 22. New episodes will then follow weekly.

Blending live-action with animation, CoComelon Classroom brings the characters of the animated series to life, as viewers join a real-life Ms Appleberry in the classroom. Ms Appleberry is played by a real teacher called Juliana Urtubey who will teach early English-language learning through fun activities and music.

The series includes insight and input from learning specialist Dr Natascha Crandall and reading specialist and literacy consultant Shelly Klein.

Moonbug said: “The show integrates themes that are essential to early childhood cognitive, social and emotional development, like sensory processing, language development and behavioural and emotional regulation. Each episode combines these elements with CoComelon’s signature songs and relatable characters, ensuring that learning remains engaging and accessible.”
