Clintons’ HiddenLight shines on C4 exec

HiddenLight Productions, the UK- and US-based prodco started by Hilary and Chelsea Clinton with Sam Branson, has brought in a Channel 4 commissioning executive to work on its unscripted slate.

Siobhan Sinnerton

Siobhan Sinnerton has been appointed creative director and senior VP of unscripted at HiddenLight, having most recently been commissioning editor for news, current affairs and immersive content at the commercially funded UK pubcaster.

At HiddenLight, which was launched in December, Sinnerton will be responsible for growing the slate of premium unscripted content globally.

Sinnerton’s experience spans current affairs, popular factual formats and series, and digital innovation. She joined C4 in 2010 as commissioning editor for news and current affairs. Her most recent project, For Sama, was nominated for an Oscar.

The exec’s other credits include: The Hunt for Jihadi John, The Battle for Hong Kong, Myanmar’s Killing Fields, Children on the Frontline and Escape from ISIS.

Sinnerton has also been a commissioner on popular factual and consumer series, including Supershoppers, Life After Lock-up and 24 Hours in Police Custody. In addition, she established C4’s Unreported World YouTube channel, which now has more than a million subscribers.

Sinnerton was also one of the first commissioners in the UK to experiment with VR. Grenfell: Our Home combined documentary interviews shot in 360-degree video with computer-generated animation that took people into the London tower block as it was before 2017’s infamous fire.

Sinnerton will report to Hiddenlight CEO Johnny Webb, who said: “Siobhan is perfectly aligned with our mission to celebrate the best of the human spirit. She has built an outstanding network of talent on and off screen and has a reputation for nurturing lasting relationships.”
