Diagonal TV, Crescendo Media ‘climate justice’ doc Silence of the Earth to debut

The Silence of the Earth will be shopped at Mipcom next week

Banijay Entertainment has unveiled a hard-hitting new ‘climate justice’ documentary, The Silence of the Earth, which will be shopped to buyers at Mipcom in Cannes next week.

Produced by Banijay Iberia-owned label Diagonal TV and Crescendo Media Production, the feature-length title is directed by filmmaker Eulogio Romero. It details the lives and deaths of environmental activists Berta Cáceres, Paulo Paulino Guajajara and Aldo Zamora, who paid the ultimate price for defending the planet from corporate greed in Latin America.

Banijay Rights is handling international distribution.

Jordi Frades, MD of Diagonal TV, said: “This documentary is not just a film, it’s a call to action. Climate change is the defining crisis of our time, affecting every person on the planet.”

Cathy Payne, CEO at Banijay Rights, added: “The Silence of the Earth is an urgent and vital documentary. By revealing the real-life consequences of environmental destruction, we hope to spark conversations on the intersections between corporate power, human rights and the climate crisis.”
