CJ ENM, TrueVisions content alliance yields Thai remake of Korean drama Black Dog

Thank You Teacher will premiere this summer

South Korean high-school drama Black Dog: Being a Teacher is to be remade in Thailand as part of an agreement between Seoul-based CJ ENM and Thai pay TV company TrueVisions.

The two firms have a long-standing joint venture called True CJ Creations (TCJ), through which several of CJ ENM’s Korean dramas have already been adapted for Thai audiences on various platforms within the TrueVisions portfolio.

Re-titled Thank You Teacher (16×60′), the localised version of Black Dog is set to debut this summer, telling the story of a new part-time teacher struggling to fit in and become a full-time educator.

Other upcoming adaptations as part of the TCJ slate include romance Start Up (16×60′), fantasy love story Familiar Wife (16×60′), legal thriller Lawless Lawyer (16×60′) and romcom Emergency Couple (21×60′).

All four series are due to be delivered in 2024 and will air on TrueVisions OTT service True ID, pay TV channel TrueVisions and DTT channel True4U.

Sebastian Kim, director of international content sales at CJ ENM, said: “From romantic comedies to crime and thrillers, CJ ENM is dedicated to conveying versatile narratives and themes that can provoke sympathies among viewers.”
