CJ ENM adds period drama, music entertainment show to originals slate

South Korean entertainment company CJ ENM has unveiled its slate of scripted and unscripted K-content for 2023, with programmes including a period drama and a music entertainment show.

The original shows will air on the company’s own channel tvN, music network Mnet and streaming platform TVING, with CJ ENM shopping the titles internationally in the coming months.

Our Blooming Youth, produced by Studio Dragon with Story & Pictures Media, is a period drama about a girl genius suspected of a family murder.

Pandora: Beneath the Paradise, produced by Studio Dragon and Chorokbaem Media, will premiere in March and is a female-led revenge thriller.

Meanwhile, Queen of Tears is a domestic drama created by CultureDepot, Showrunus and Studio Dragon; and Cold Blooded Intern is a comedic show about an intern in her 40s, made by CJ ENM and ReamongRaien.

Returning shows and spin-offs on the slate include Jinny’s Kitchen, Island (season two), Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramoon, The Uncanny Counter (season two), Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938 and Earth Arcade (season two).

Webtoon-based series set to premiere in 2003 are The Heavenly Idol, See You in My 19th Life, A Bloody Lucky Day and Duty After School. Finally, Boys Planet is a music entertainment show where singers compete to join a boy band.
