Cineflix’s Leroux unwraps Paper firm

Cineflix Media exec Julien Leroux has launched a London-based company that will focus on developing, financing and producing TV content in partnership with talent and producers.

Leroux has formed Paper Entertainment after leaving his role as senior VP of global scripted coproductions at Canada-based Cineflix, where his credits included exec producing the first season of Apple TV+ drama Tehran.

Paper is now on board as a coproducer on the recently announced second season of the spy thriller and has several other projects in development to be announced shortly.

During his time at Cineflix, Leroux developed projects with producers including Clerkenwell Films, Broadway Video, Hera Pictures and Bryncoed Productions.

He was also responsible for identifying, acquiring and launching dramas for Cineflix Rights including Icelandic political series The Minister, Russian thriller An Ordinary Woman and Canadian procedural Coroner.

Prior to joining Cineflix in 2018, Leroux was exec VP of content development and sales at the UK arm of France’s Newen Group and deputy MD of international sales, acquisitions and marketing at Paris-based Newen Distribution.
