Cineflix stocks Israeli crime drama

Manayek comes from Yoav Gross Productions

MIPTV: UK distributor Cineflix Rights has added an Israeli police corruption drama to its sales slate as the digital version of MipTV gets underway.

Produced by Yoav Gross Productions for Kan 11 Network, Manayek tells the story of a veteran internal affairs investigator who discovers his best friend, a highly respected police officer, is operating a vast criminal network within the force.

The 10×45’ drama was created and written by Roy Iddan (Kfula) and directed by Alon Zingman (Shtisel).

James Durie, head of scripted at Cineflix Rights, said: “Manayek is an intense crime thriller, packed with strong male and female characters and a deeply layered, hard-hitting plot delivering twists and turns with an authenticity that is rare in police dramas.

“Like Tehran, it has been a major hit in Israel, and we look forward to it having similar global appeal as we launch it to the international market this spring.”
