Cineflix Rights signs deal to distribute sci-fi series Heart Attack worldwide

Cineflix Rights has acquired the distribution rights to sci-fi series Heart Attack

London-based sales house Cineflix Rights has acquired the distribution rights to dystopian sci-fi series Heart Attack and will shop the title at next month’s Mipcom.

Produced by Skybound Entertainment (The Walking Dead) and Robot for Japanese broadcaster Fuji TV, it’s set in a post-pandemic Japan and follows an uprising of people with supernatural powers called Variants.

Based on a graphic novel by Shawn Kittelsen and Eric Zawadzki, it stars Kanichiro (Kubi) as Umin and Toko Miura (Drive My Car) as Ema.

Executive producers are Robert Kirkman, David Alpert, Rick Jacobs, Glenn Geller, Koji Ishi and Takeshi Shimokawa.

James Durie, head of scripted, Cineflix Rights, said: “With the added pedigree of Skybound, the creatives behind the huge global hit that is The Walking Dead, we are expecting a lot of interest from global buyers as we gear up to launching it at Mipcom.”
