Cineflix Rights sells Coroner to Disney+, Marcella to Tanweer, makes true crime deals

Muse Entertainment, Back Alley Films and Cineflix Studios made Coroner for CBC

Disney+ has picked up Canadian drama Coroner for the Balkans and Bulgaria, while Greece’s Tanweer Alliances has acquired UK thriller Marcella, as part of a string of deals signed by distributor Cineflix Rights.

Disney+ has taken the first season of Coroner (8×60′), made by Muse Entertainment, Back Alley Films and Cineflix Studios for CBC, while Tanweer has bought all three seasons (24×60’) of Marcella for its ERT network. The latter show is produced by Buccaneer Media for ITV and Netflix.

Cineflix Rights announced the deals in the run-up to Natpe Budapest alongside a number of true crime sales. These include two Hoff Productions titles made for Reelz in the US – John Wayne Gacy: Killer Clown’s Revenge (4×60’) and Battle of Alcatraz (2×60’) – going to TV JOJ in the Czech Republic and AMC Networks International’s Spektrum channel in Central Europe respectively.
