Cineflix Rights lines up Reginald the Vampire, Irvine Welsh’s Crime for MipTV

Jacob Batalon plays an out-of-place vampire in Reginald the Vampire

Supernatural series Reginald the Vampire, starring Spider-Man’s Jacob Batalon, and Trainspotting author Irvine Welsh’s drama Crime are among the shows London-based distributor Cineflix Rights will shop at this year’s MipTV.

Reginald the Vampire (10×60’) is produced by Great Pacific Media, Modern Story, December Films and Cineflix Studios for Syfy in the US. Inspired by Johnny B Truant’s Fat Vampire novels, the series stars Batalon as a new vampire who must overcome myriad obstacles in a world populated by beautiful, fit and vain vampires.

Crime is an adaptation of Welsh’s novel of the same name and is produced by Buccaneer Media for ITV and BritBox. The 6×60’ series follows detective inspector Ray Lennox (Dougray Scott), a man engaged in his own disturbing battle while undertaking serious crime investigations in a city on the edge of the abyss.

Also on Cineflix’s scripted slate is Sugar (1×90’), a feature thriller inspired by the real-life story of the ‘Cocaine Cowgirls,’ two young Canadian influencers on a dream trip that turns into a nightmare when they become entangled in a deadly drug-smuggling operation. Sugar is produced by Connect3 Media and Sepia Films.

New factual series launching at MipTV include Dream Home Makeovers with Sophie Robinson (6×60’), which is produced by Pi Productions and Motion Content Group for Channel 5 in the UK. The series follows the interior design guru as she pushes brave homeowners just beyond their comfort zones to create eye-popping interiors.

Produced by Peninsula Television for CBS Reality in the UK, Eire, Africa and Poland, Descent of a Serial Killer (10×60’) investigates why serial killers become what they are and how investigators can often miss key indicators in tracking them down.

These shows sit alongside returning seasons of brands like Richard Hammond’s Workshop; My Floating Home; The World’s Most Scenic Railway Journeys; Inside Taronga Zoo; Ainsley’s Good Mood Food; Homicide: Hours to Kill; Killer Cases; Ambulance Code Red; 24-hour Baby Hospital; and Property Brothers: Forever Home.
