Cineflix packs Macella’s bags

MIPCOM: Distributor Cineflix Rights has picked up the first English language drama from The Bridge writer Hans Rosenfeldt for international sales.

Marcella (8×60’) is being produced by Buccaneer Media, the London-based joint venture between drama producer Tony Wood and Cineflix Rights.

Described as a “multi-stranded crime drama” Marcella is a Nordic Noir set on the streets of London and created for an English-speaking audience. It was commissioned by UK commercial broadcaster ITV.

It was co-created by Rosenfeldt and Nicola Larder (The Tunnel) and will now be shopped around the world by Cineflix, which is launching the title at Mipcom in Cannes which starts tomorrow.
