Christoph Schneider to head Amazon Prime Video in Germany after Pflüger’s exit

US tech giant Amazon has named Christoph Schneider as country director for its Prime Video streaming service in Germany and Austria.

The internal appointment follows the departure of Kaspar Pflüger, whose brief stint in the role came to an end after just six months in October.

Prime Video created the position of country director only a few months ago. Pflüger, the former boss of German channel Sat.1, took over a large part of Schneider’s responsibilities as head of content for Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Now Schneider, who had remained with the company, is getting most of those responsibilities back, along with a new title.

Schneider will now oversee strategies for SVoD, TVoD, Prime Video channels, AVoD and Prime Video Direct.
