Chris Reindorp joins fledgling Zinc Media label Rex as it eyes returnable formats

Newly launched popular factual and documentaries prodco Rex has hired former Plimsoll Productions executive Chris Reindorp as it eyes a push into returnable formats.

Chris Reindorp

UK factual production group Zinc Media launched Rex, which focuses on popular factual and premium docs and is headed by First Dates and SAS: Who Dares Wins exec Lana Salah, in April.

It has now brought in Reindorp as development producer after he held the same role at Plimsoll, making factual entertainment and specialist factual for US and UK markets.

Recent development credits include Marcus Wareing’s Tales from a Kitchen Garden (BBC), Britain by Beach (Channel 4) and Reagan & Thatcher: A Very Special relationship (BBC).

Prior to working at Plimsoll, Reindorp was development producer at Amazing Productions and before that held the same role at Spark Media. He also had stints at Spun Gold, Channel 4, Hat Trick Productions and the BBC.

Salah, creative director at Rex, said: “Our aim is to bring a high-end, premium sensibility to popular-factual programming, not only working with the best on-screen talent, but also the best off-screen – Chris really fits that bill. With an impressive portfolio of credits we are confident Chris can help us develop programmes with a much-watch quality, perfect for primetime audiences.”
