Chicago Fire burns on Sky Living

UK satcaster BSkyB has added to its slate of new US fall series after female-skewing Sky Living secured domestic rights to Chicago Fire.

The show, due to premiere on NBC in October, follows the personal and professional lives of the firefighters based at Chicago Firehouse 51.

Chicago Fire is produced by Universal Television and Wolf Films. It was created by Derek Haas and Michael Brandt, who also exec produce alongside Dick Wolf (Law & Order), Matt Olmstead, Joe Chappelle, Danielle Gelber and Peter Jankowski.

Sky picked up the show from NBCUniversal International Television Distribution (NBCU). It follows previous deals for new US dramas Elementary, which will also be shown on Sky Living, Arrow for Sky1 and Vegas and The Following for Sky Atlantic.

In another new deal with NBCU, Sky has also secured rights to seasons three, four and five of Friday Night Lights, which is currently in its second season on Sky Atlantic.
