Chernin’s North Road builds out TV team under Amy Israel with three exec hires

L-R: Josh Stern, Jamie Pross and Madison Heim-Jinivisian

Peter Chernin’s international studio The North Road Company has expanded its television team under Amy Israel with the appointment of three executives.

Josh Stern, formerly the creative lead at Wiip, has been named exec VP of television, while Showtime alum Jamie Pross has been appointed VP of television. Madison Heim-Jinivisian, who was most recently the coordinator of original programming at Showtime, has joined the LA-based company as creative executive.

These are the first major appointments by Israel, who joined North Road as president of TV toward the end of last year after serving as head of scripted programming at Showtime. The move reunited Israel with North Road CEO David Nevins, who joined Chernin’s deep-pocketed studio last summer.

During his time with Wiip, Stern worked on projects including Dickinson (Apple TV+) and Dummy (Quibi/Roku) and before that oversaw development at Darren Aronofsky’s Protozoa, where he worked on Kindred (FX) and Oscar-winning feature drama The Whale, starring Brendan Fraser.

Pross was formerly the manager of original programming at Showtime, where she worked with Israel and played a key role in the development and production of scripted series including Yellowjackets, Billions, Super Pumped: The Rise of Uber and The Woman in the Wall.

Heim-Jinivisian was previously the coordinator of original programming at Showtime, where she contributed to Yellowjackets and A Gentleman in Moscow, as well as other development projects.

“Combined, these three key hires will make significant contributions to North Road’s growth,” said Israel.
