Chernin strikes comedy deals with CBS

Chernin Entertainment, the new vehicle from former News Corp topper Peter Chernin, has set up two comedy pilots at CBS.

One project is a multicamera half-hour from Chris Harris (How I Met Your Mother). The comedy revolves around an unlikely corporate office friendship between a 30-something guy who feels his career has plateaued and a 22-year-old who works in the same office.

The project will be exec produced by Harris along with Peter Chernin and Chernin’s TV chief, Katherine Pope.

The second project, also multicamera, comes from Jared Stern (Bolt) and centres on a group of blue-collar workers at a mega-store. Stern Pope and Chernin will exec produce.

Chernin Entertainment launched this summer and already has two drama projects and a family comedy set up at Fox.
