Chernin Entertainment staffs up as part of ongoing film and TV push

Chernin Entertainment has added a clutch of execs, including former NBCUniversal veteran Bill McGoldrick, to its ranks as it looks to grow its film and TV activities.

The LA-based producer behind Truth Be Told and See on Apple TV+ has also hired former senior VP of originals at Starz, Juan Alfonso, and the former executive VP of business and legal affairs at Fox 21, Vibiana Molina.

McGoldrick will serve as executive VP of film and TV at the company, while Alfonso has been named senior VP of film and TV, and Molina will be executive VP of business affairs.

They join a team led by film and TV president Jenno Topping that also includes creative execs Christina Porter, who joined from Escape Artists Entertainment, and Jordan Compton, who arrived from Amblin.

McGoldrick exited Peacock-owner NBCUniversal last year having re-joined the US studio in 2009 after an initial stint with USA Network between 1998 and 2005.

“These talented execs each bring their own unique and valuable expertise to Chernin Entertainment during this important and exciting growth juncture. We are grateful to have assembled such a remarkably strong team,” said Topping.

The hires come after Chernin launched an unscripted production company with former ESPN exec Connor Schell earlier this year.
