Channel 5 lines up Clapperboard, Sphere Abacus crime thriller Catch You Later

Paramount-owned UK terrestrial Channel 5 has commissioned Catch You Later (working title), a thriller series from UK indie Clapperboard.

The 4×60’ series is being produced in association with Sphere Abacus, which will distribute it internationally.

The cast will be led by BAFTA winner Jason Watkins (Coma, The Lost Honour of Christopher Jefferies, W1A), Robson Green (Grantchester, Age Before Beauty, Strike Back) and Sunetra Sarker (Desperate Measures, Casualty, Ackley Bridge).

The plot focuses on a police detective still haunted by the one case that he failed to solve: a stalker who taunted his town, mercilessly toying with his victims before eventually killing them.

The series was ordered by Paul Testar, commissioning editor of drama at Channel 5 and Paramount+, who will exec produce with Sebastian Cardwell, deputy chief content officer, Paramount UK for Channel 5.

Rachel Gesua (The Teacher, The Catch, The Holiday) will exec produce alongside Suzi McIntosh (Silent Witness, The Teacher, Peaky Blinders) and MD Mike Benson for Clapperboard with Jonathan Ford and Will Stapley for Sphere Abacus.

Toby Frow (Silent Witness, Death in Paradise) will direct the series which is being written by Tom Grieves (Being Human, No Offence, Lucky Man). Mick Pantaleo is also on board as producer.

The series is set to start filming next month and is expected to air on Channel 5 in 2025.

Clapperboard has previously produced dramas including The Good Ship Murder and The Teacher for Channel 5 and Paramount+.
