UK commercially funded pubcaster Channel 4 has commissioned two factual series from Manchester-based Purple Productions, part of Objective Media Group.

The first series, Britain’s Most Beautiful Road (4×60’), will uncover the highs and lows of Scotland’s spectacular North Coast-500 route during its busiest season yet.

With exclusive access to the Highland Council and its new ranger team, the series will follow the people and the businesses behind the NC500 as well as the challenges that come with maintaining it.

The second series, A Cotswold Farmshop (6×60’), will showcase Gloucester Services, its staff, visitors and the local community it serves.

The famous grass-roofed station was built in 2014 and is run by the family behind the Tebay Services, which was the focus of C4 and Purple Productions’ returning series A Lake District Farmshop.

Purple Productions’ joint creative directors Pam Cavannagh and Dympna Jackson will exec produce both series, which will be distributed by All3Media International.
