Channel 4, Jonathan Ross are Handcuffed in social experiment format from 72 Films

UK public broadcaster Channel 4 has commissioned a social experiment format from Fremantle’s 72 Films, hosted by Jonathan Ross.

Jonathan Ross

Handcuffed (6×60’) takes eight pairs of strangers with completely opposed opinions, beliefs, lifestyles and bad habits, and handcuffs them together 24/7.

The pairs will be sent on a road trip across the UK in the hope they will find common ground along the way, while having to navigate eating, dressing and sleeping while shackled together.

The couple that can last the longest chained together will be in the running for a £100,000 (US$133,777) prize.

Execs producing are 72 Films’ founder and CEO David Glover, Tim Whitwell and Tom Clarke.

Channel 4’s commissioning editor Tim Hancock said: “The series aims to capture modern Britain by examining its divisions and hopefully helping mend some of them too.”
