Channel 4 and UKTV agree content sharing deal across streaming services

Eagle Eye Drama’s The Couple Next Door
UK public service broadcaster Channel 4 and BBC Studios’ UKTV have become the latest rival broadcasters to agree to share content across their respective streamers.
From January 2026, Channel 4 will stream hundreds of UKTV and BBC archive titles from UKTV’s U service, spanning drama, entertainment, comedy and factual.
The deal includes U&Original titles like Outrageous, Bergerac, Big Zuu’s Big Eats, Bangers & Cash and Pete Wicks: For Dogs’ Sake, as well as classics from the BBC and acquisitions such as The Office, Red Dwarf, QI, The Count of Monte Cristo and MasterChef Australia.
These will complement Channel 4’s streaming line-up which includes Gogglebox, The Great British Bake Off, Married at First Sight UK and 24 Hours in Police Custody.
The carriage deal marks the first time Channel 4 has carried a third-party service on its platform.
In related news, three formats from After Party Studios that debuted on Savage Sundays, the weekly innovation slot on C4’s YouTube and social media platform Channel 4.0, have been recommissioned for a total of 11 episodes. The broadcaster has also committed to continue the slot.
The first five new episodes will be of Find The…, which expands on the viral show Find The Cheater, starring Nella Rose and Ava Hirons.
Also on order are four episodes of Dilemmas and two of Cooked. The pilot of Dilemmas saw viewers’ beloved ‘C4.0 Aunties’ solve people’s life questions. Cooked is a roundtable bluffing game in which five creators give each other a friendly but savage roasting.
The formats featured in Savage Sundays are commissioned by Kaio Grizzelle with Sacha Khari, head of digital commissioning. The new episodes are executive produced by Sam Ewen and Jamie MacDonald from After Party Studios and produced by Fatima Rahouma and will drop on Sundays from October 12.
Finally, C4’s original drama The Couple Next Door – Deadly Attraction has been sold around the world by German distributor Beta Film.
The Eagle Eye Drama-produced drama has been acquired in Australia (Foxtel Group), New Zealand (TVNZ), Latin America (NBCUniversal), the Middle East (Safe Media), Macao and Hong Kong (Now TV), and South Korea (LGUplus).
In Europe, Rai acquired the rights to the 6×60’ series for Italy, while Canal+ has taken it for Poland and VTM for Belgium. In Scandinavia, it was acquired by public broadcasters DR in Denmark, SVT in Sweden and YLE in Finland, among others.
The Couple Next Door – Deadly Attraction is loosely adapted from the Scandinavian drama Fatal Injections from Kamikaze Film.
Eagle Eye Drama also produced predecessor series The Couple Next Door, which is based on the Dutch format The Neighbours from Millstreet Films. Beta Film holds international distribution rights to both shows.
