CC-Lab rolls out YouTube channel and Louie Spence format in digital-first drive

Louie Spence in Care is fronted by the former Dancing on Ice judge

Live events and factual specialist producer CC-Lab in the UK has launched a YouTube comedy channel featuring new factual entertainment format Louie Spence in Care.

It is the first project in the company’s digital-first strategy, which will see CC-Lab double down on content aimed at YouTube and social media platforms, including video podcasts and microdramas.

The dedicated YouTube channel has been developed in partnership with Scottish digital consultancy Ferry, led by Caitlin Meek O’Connor and Mark MacDonald.

Louie Spence in Care sees the former Dancing on Ice judge enter the care sector, providing entertainment for the elderly with the help of his celebrity friends from the world of musical theatre.

The series streams on YouTube from today, with new episodes going live each week and supporting content dropping on TikTok and Instagram.

Hannah Springham, development director and executive producer at CC-Lab, said: “Going digital-first just felt right. Broadcasters talk a lot about digital strategy, but we wanted to act. With a project this timely and fast-moving, YouTube was the obvious home. It allows us to be reactive, bold and direct with our audience.”
