CBS’s develops new version of Einstein

Einstein was commissioned by Sat.1 in Germany

US broadcast network CBS is again developing a US version of German drama series Einstein.

Produced for CBS by Red Arrow Studios International and Intrigue Entertainment, Einstein is being adapted from German broadcaster Sat.1’s original series about a brilliant young physics professor who is the secret illegitimate great-grandchild of Albert Einstein.

CBS originally announced it had acquired the scripted format from Red Arrow Studios International and put it into development in September last year.

The project saw Monk creator and executive producer Andy Breckman teaming up again with Monk’s director and executive producer, Randy Zisk.

CBS is now developing a new version, written and executive produced by Lauren Gussis, the creator of Insatiable, and executive produced by American Gothic creator Corinne Brinkerhoff.

The adaptation will see the great-grandchild begrudgingly partner a Boston homicide detective to help solve the city’s most puzzling crimes.

Gussis is exec producing with Brinkerhoff and Tiffany Grant. Exec producing for Intrigue Entertainment are senior VP of film and television Lucas Carter and creative executive Joe Wiggins. Acting president Joel Denton and VP of sales and acquisitions Shirley Bowers exec produce for Red Arrow.

Red Arrow Studios International will distribute both the German original and US adaptation of Einstein.
