CBS renews comedies Neighborhood, Bob

Bob Hearts Abishola debuted in 2019

Viacom-owned US network CBS has renewed comedies The Neighborhood and Bob Hearts Abishola, both part of its Monday night line-up, for the 2021/22 broadcast season.

The Neighborhood, currently in its third season, is produced by CBS Studios. Exec producers include Jim Reynolds and Cedric The Entertainer, who also stars.

Bob Hearts Abishola began in 2019 and is exec produced by Chuck Lorre, Al Higgins and Beth McCarthy Miller, along with writer Gina Yashere. Chuck Lorre Productions produces the series in association with Warner Bros Television.

Thom Sherman, senior executive VP of programming at CBS, said: “We’re extremely proud of these two comedies and delighted to bring them back next season. Both blend humour with relatable and culturally relevant storylines and are tremendous, successful Monday night anchors.”
