CBS merges alternative, specials units

CBS Entertainment is merging its alternative programming and specials units into one department to be led by head of special programming Jack Sussman.

Jack Sussman

Sussman, a 22-year CBS veteran, most recently held the role of executive VP, specials, music and live events and will now lead the combined department.

The rejig comes after Sharon Vuong, CBS Entertainment’s senior VP of alternative programming, left the company three months ago.

This has seen Mitch Graham promoted to senior VP of alternative programming, reporting to Sussman, after he took on Vuong’s responsibilities. Vuong later resurfaced at US broadcast network NBC.

Meanwhile, two CBS Entertainment alternative programming VPs, Laura Silva and Chris Aagaard, will continue to report to Graham, while Mackenzie Mitchell has been made manager of specials and will report to Sussman.
