Tough as Nails will see contestants tested on their strength, endurance, agility and mental toughness through a series of  real-world challenges. Participants will progressively be eliminated from the show until one is crowned the winner.

The 10-episode series is produced by Raquel Productions and Tough House Productions and executive produced by married duo Louise and Phil Keoghan, with the latter also serving as the show’s host. Its premiere date has yet to be announced.

Phil Keoghan is known as the host of the US version of The Amazing Race and has previously created and hosted No Opportunity Wasted with Louise Keoghan.

Phil Keoghan said: “Tough as Nails was inspired by my proud working-class family of farmers, gold miners, builders and coal miners. I was lucky enough to spend my school holidays working alongside my grandfather, a World War Two aero mechanic, gunsmith and inventor. I’m excited to celebrate the skills of those who sweat on factory floors instead of gym floors, and those who wear work boots instead of workout shoes.”

The series will be conducting a nationwide casting search across the US next month.
