CBC renews Canadian version of The Assembly for S2

NEWS BRIEF: Canadian pubcaster the CBC has renewed The Assembly, its local adaptation of French unscripted format Les Rencontres du Papotin, for a second season.

The format, which is produced for the CBC by Small Army Entertainment, sees neurodivergent and autistic adults interview celebrities, with the first season featuring Arlene Dickinson (Dragons’ Den), Howie Mandel (The Price is Right Tonight), Maitreyi Ramakrishnan (Never Have I Ever) and comedian Russell Peters, among others. Radio-Canada’s French-language version, Facteur A, has also been greenlit for a second season.
