CBC acquires Germinal adaptation from Banijay

Germinal is based on Émile Zola’s classic 19th century novel

NEWS BRIEF: CBC in Canada has become the first international buyer of the forthcoming six-part drama based on Émile Zola’s classic 19th century novel Germinal, which is being distributed by Banijay Rights.

Germinal, set in an 1860s mining community in northern France, is due to launch this fall. It is a coproduction between Banijay Studios France and Pictanovo with the support of La Région Hauts-de-France for France Télévisions, in collaboration with Rai Fiction in Italy and French streamer Salto.
