CBBC embarks on Deadly Mission Shark in the Bahamas with Steve Backshall

Deadly Mission Shark is presented by naturalist Steve Backshall

UK pubcaster the BBC has commissioned a shark conservation series with naturalist and presenter Steve Backshall for children’s channel CBBC.

In Deadly Mission Shark (10×30’), 10 children undertake a 10-day bootcamp at a shark sanctuary in the Bahamas, where they will learn about the challenges sharks face and how they could help save them in the future.

During the bootcamp, the team will learn how to dive and how to interact with sharks. The young advocates will also be actively involved in hands-on conservation projects, benefit from interactions with marine biologists, grasp the significance of shark habitats and dive deep into Bahamian culture.

Deadly Mission Shark is produced by BBC Studios’ Natural History Unit (NHU) and will be available on the CBBC channel and BBC iPlayer from Monday. Rosemary Edwards from the NHU exec produces.
