Cartoonito strikes first YouTube deal with musical children’s series Clawlolo

Clawlolo from Cyprus-based producer Rymanco

Warner Bros Discovery-owned Cartoonito has acquired children’s musical series Clawlolo for its global YouTube channel from its Canadian distributor Epic Story Media.

Clawlolo (26×3′) comes from Cyprus-based producer Rymanco and follows the underwater capers of a crab and his aquatic friends.

C21 understands this marks the first time Cartoonito has acquired an animated series specifically for its YouTube channel. The move comes after Epic Story Media launched the show on its Epic Story Jr channel on YouTube.

The non-dialogue 2D children’s musical series has been produced to provide “an engaging pause between educational programmes, recommended by psychologists for children’s TV,” according to Cartoonito.

Ken Faier, president and CEO of Epic Story Media, said: “Having launched the show on Epic Story Jr, our hub channel on YouTube, it was gratifying to see the views immediately connect and grow. Partnering with Cartoonito is a great way to broaden the reach of the series.

Zia Sands, director of content acquisitions, partnerships and coproductions at Warner Bros Discovery, Kids, EMEA, added: “At Cartoonito we reach and engage kids on every platform that they love to use. Clawlolo caught our eye for its fun sense of humour, its unique aesthetic and its playful use of music, appealing to parents and their preschoolers watching our Cartoonito YouTube channel.”
