Cargo ships more Turlington sales

New York-based factual distributor Cargo Film has secured deals for several titles including a documentary from model Christy Turlington on motherhood.

No Woman No Cry follows Turlington as she examines maternal health around the world. It premiered in the US on OWN Oprah Winfrey Network and has now been picked up from Cargo by a host of other broadcasters.

Discovery Asia, Radio-Canada for French-speaking Canada, Canal Plus’ Planete in Poland, and Redbull Media for German-speaking Europe have all bought the programme.

The programme is produced by Turly Pictures.

Elsewhere, Made in America: Crips and Bloods, a documentary on gang culture in Los Angeles, has sold to TV One in the US, Discovery Latin America and Noga TV in Israel.

The programme is narrated by actor Forest Whittaker, directed by Stacy Peralta and coproduced by The Gang Documentary, Balance Vector Productions and Verso Entertainment.

Jump!, a documentary on streakers, has also been picked up by Discovery Latin America, VMMA Belgium and Planete Poland.

Cargo previously announced sales of Love Translated (1×84′), from Canadian producer Interfilm, to a host of European broadcasters. The film follows a group of eastern men heading to Ukraine charged with finding a wife in 10 days.
