Canela picks up Odd Squad, Alma’s Way from Sinking Ship

NEWS BRIEF: Canela Media in Latin America has acquired children’s live-action series Odd Squad and animated show Alma’s Way for its free streamer Canela.TV from Sinking Ship Entertainment, while Belgian children’s channel Ketnet has picked up school drama Phoenix Rise from the distributor.

Canada’s Sinking Ship coproduces Odd Squad with BBC Studios Kids & Family Productions in the UK. Phoenix Rise is also produced by BBC Studios, while Alma’s Way comes from Fred Rogers Productions and Pipeline Studios in the US. Odd Squad season four will debut on ABC in Australia and NRK in Norway later this year, following its premiere on PBS Kids in the US, CBBC in the UK and TVOkids in Canada, while S3 and S4 of Phoenix Rise have also been picked up by Finland’s YLE.
