Canal+ hangs ten by acquiring surf doc Savage Waters

NEWS BRIEF: French pay TV operator Canal+ and US sports-orientated cable and satellite network OutsideTV have snapped up surfing feature documentary Savage Waters.

The sale was secured by Abacus Media Rights, which is distributing the film about a mythical ‘perfect wave’ found in remote waters of the Atlantic. Savage Waters is made by French prodco Whipped Sea and produced by Ghislaine Couvillat (Girls Can’t Surf). Actor Charles Dance (Game of Thrones) narrates, with footage shot on location in the UK, France, Portugal and the Savage Islands.
