Canal+ adds StarzPlay to OTT offering

French pay TV broadcaster Canal+ will integrate US streamer StarzPlay’s content into its OTT platforms from February 3.

Canal+ Séries subscribers and Canal+ customers with the Ciné Séries, Integrale or Integrale+ packages will get access to shows from StarzPlay, which is owned by US cablenet Starz.

Series that will be available include The Spanish Princess (from Playground), Power Book II: Ghost (G Unit Television and Film) and Normal People (Element).

StarzPlay has now expanded into 55 territories since its launch in March 2018. Canal+ viewers will be able to watch the included shows as soon as they debut in the US.

Superna Kalle, executive VP, international digital networks, at Starz, said: “We look forward to deepening our relationship with French viewers through this partnership and are confident they will gravitate toward our premium content.”
